Last spring I was fortunate to listen to a Jazz moment… Dave Roth flew in from Moravian University in Pennsylvania to perform with the Rich Chiaraluce trio along with Bill Shade on the Valve Trombone. These five never played together until this fabulous performance…. Dave had written a couple of new pieces and handed them out to the others. Both Pieces were played as if they were a part of the musical repertoire of the five. The musical result was unbelievably great. The place was moving and rocking with rapt enjoyment. What an evening. The music not only caromed around the walls and ceiling, it enveloped each and every one of us with lasting memories….“

Hi Dave,

This is Jayme Dobbins (formerly Jayme Stratton), and you played at my wedding on June 11th.   I know it is impolitely late to be sending you a thank you…but I would rather give you praise now than never…

My husband and I loved your quartet, as did all of our guests. We received numerous compliments throughout the day, and especially afterwards when people were commenting on what a nice time they had, and how they had never been to a wedding with better music. One of our guests even used his cell phone to call his son…he held his cell phone up while you were playing so his son could hear the great jazz music (they’re big jazz fans)!

We loved every song you played, and you were so great to work with…very accommodating and happy to meet any and all of our requests, and they were all played beautifully… Everything was even better than ever imagined.

We just wanted to say thank you for coordinating with our song requests, and also for getting so many great musicians to accompany you in your quartet. Everyone was great…

It was a pleasure to finally meet you Saturday Night. Your trio was excellent and really fit the bill in terms of quality musicianship and sophistication. Hello David:

Marsha, Barbara and I want to thank you for helping to make our Alumni Weekend special. We appreciate you, Glenn and Dominick coming to the Hotel Bethlehem to kick off the weekend and then later coming back to our last event, the Gourmet Dessert Reception, to play with the Jazz Hounds.
